What is a liquidation price on Hyperliquid?
The price at which a leveraged position no longer has enough margin and is closed by the exchange. Longs are liquidated if price falls to it; shorts if price rises to it. Higher leverage puts it closer to the entry price.
Why do whale liquidations matter?
A forced close of a multi-million-dollar position is a large market order. It can push price further in the same direction and trigger other liquidations — a cascade traders watch closely.
How is “distance” calculated?
The percentage price would have to move from the current mark price to reach the liquidation price. 5% means a 5% move against the trader closes the position.
